The Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi informs the public that, effective February 1, 2025, Tajik and Uzbek citizens will be required to obtain an Airport Transit Visa (VTA) in order to transit through Italian airports.
This requirement applies to all Tajik and Uzbek nationals, with the following exceptions:
- Holders of a valid uniform visa,
- Holders of a national visa for long-term stay, or
- Holders of a residence permit issued by any EU Member State.
The Airport Transit Visa allows travelers to access the international transit area of Italian airports during stopovers or connecting flights, without entering Italian territory.
