Italy and the UAE share an excellent cooperation in the scientific field, thanks to the presence of many Italian researchers and academics working in the country.
The community of Italian researchers and academics currently present in the UAE universities and research institutions covers all the scientific and technological disciplines declared priorities by the UAE government: aerospace, artificial intelligence, robotics and physics but also architecture, urban planning and financial research. A large part of the scientific community is concentrated in New York University in Abu Dhabi, in the Technology Innovation Institute and in Khalifa University.
Given the great potential of this scientific community, the Embassy promotes the creation of a network of Italian researchers in the UAE to further improve collaboration between the two countries.
A field with a common interest in a cutting-edge sector is space, at the center of the UAE’s strategic priorities and a sector in which Italy boasts recognized and long-standing experience, with great technological and industrial excellence. Among the latest collaboration initiatives, we note the partnership of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) with the UAE Space Agency (UAESA) and the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid belt (EMA).
