The International Cooperation is the principal tool through which Italy has been participating in the international community’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Italy is one of the supporters of the establishment of multilateral mechanisms for global cooperation and coordination in response to the coronavirus. It was one of the promoters of the proposal to create an international alliance in the search for a vaccine and for a healthcare response to Covid-19, which led to the co-direction of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator.

On April 8th, the European Commission and the EU Member States launched the Team Europe Response, a package of initiatives to present partner countries with the total resources mobilized in three priority sectors: the humanitarian response, health systems support, economic sectors support. The data collected in the process confirmed the European Union and its Member States as the first global donor: with donated funds of 36 billion euros, and Italy’s contribution of 851 million euros being the fourth highest.
